Terms of service

Scan-n-Pay lets users create and manage a public payment hub containing a business name, optional tagline or message, optional image or logo, and payment buttons that link to third-party payment services.

Important: Do not enter passwords, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, or other sensitive personal data into Scan-n-Pay. Scan-n-Pay is designed for public publishing and payment-link configuration.

User-provided content & liability

Scan-n-Pay allows users to publish content, including but not limited to business names, taglines/messages, images/logos, and payment links ("User Content").

You are solely responsible for your User Content.
You represent and warrant that your User Content is accurate, lawful, and that you have all rights necessary to publish it. Do not publish content that is deceptive, unlawful, infringing, or violates the rights of others.

Energy Etch LLC does not verify, endorse, monitor, or guarantee the accuracy, legality, safety, or legitimacy of any User Content, any payment link, or any transaction.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Energy Etch LLC and Scan-n-Pay are not liable for any losses, disputes, chargebacks, fraud, incorrect payments, broken or misdirected links, customer complaints, or damages of any kind arising from or related to User Content or use of third-party payment services.

Payments disclaimer

Scan-n-Pay is not a payment processor. Energy Etch LLC does not receive, process, store, or transmit customer payment credentials or financial account information as part of Scan-n-Pay's public payment-hub functionality.

All payments occur directly between the customer and the vendor using third-party providers such as PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, Square, Stripe, and similar services. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, policies, eligibility rules, and account requirements.

Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Scan-n-Pay collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only the information reasonably needed to operate Scan-n-Pay, and we do not sell your personal data.

What we collect

  • Authentication (Google Sign-In): your account identifier, email address, and Firebase user ID.
  • Hub configuration: business name, tagline/message, enabled payment links, theme settings, and publish/unpublish state.
  • Image/logo (optional): if you upload an image, it is stored so it can be displayed on your public payment hub.
  • Operational data: limited logs and technical signals used to maintain reliability, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.
  • Subscription state: plan status and related entitlement information needed to enforce access across the app and web app.
We do not collect payment card numbers or bank account credentials. Payments are handled by the third-party providers you choose to link to.

How we use data

  • To authenticate you and secure access to your account.
  • To save, publish, unpublish, and display your payment-hub configuration and optional logo.
  • To provide core service features across Android and web.
  • To enforce subscription/plan access and related account state.
  • To maintain service reliability, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.

How data is shared

Scan-n-Pay uses Google Firebase services, such as Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Hosting, and Cloud Functions, to operate. Data may be processed by these service providers only as needed to provide the service.

If you use web billing or customer billing management features, related billing interactions may also involve Stripe or other applicable payment/billing service providers. If you use Android app subscription billing, related billing interactions may involve Google Play billing services.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your personal data for third-party advertising.

Public checkout page

When you publish, your payment hub is public and may be accessed by anyone with the link or QR code. The public page may display the following information you provide:

  • Business name
  • Tagline/message (optional)
  • Image/logo (optional)
  • Payment buttons/links you configured
Publishing is optional. Only publish information you are comfortable sharing publicly.

Retention & deletion

You can remove your Scan-n-Pay account data from within the service by using the Delete Account / wipe-data flow available from your account area.

Wiping your data removes stored hub configuration, disables or removes your public payment hub, and removes uploaded logo/image data when present.

Important billing note: wiping your Scan-n-Pay data does not automatically cancel recurring billing. Subscription management is separate and depends on your funding source. If your plan is billed through Google Play, you must manage cancellation through Google Play. If your plan is billed through Stripe, you must manage cancellation through the applicable Stripe billing portal or customer billing link.
You can return later by signing in again and recreating or republishing your payment hub, subject to your subscription/plan status.
